Inside Sales Account Manager

Inside Sales Account Manager – Public Sector

Wakefield/Leeds

We’re looking for a driven and ambitious Inside Sales Account Manager to join a high-performing Public Sector team. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a career in technology sales, working within a collaborative and supportive environment with clear progression into a field-based Account Manager role.

The Opportunity

As an Inside Sales Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing and growing relationships across a portfolio of public sector customers, particularly within education. You’ll work closely with Account Managers to identify opportunities, generate leads, and deliver value-led solutions that meet customer needs.

This is a varied role where you’ll combine proactive outreach, campaign activity, and account development – alongside managing your own pipeline of opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a portfolio of smaller public sector accounts, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities
  • Support Account Managers in delivering targeted campaigns to generate new business opportunities
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers across customer organisations
  • Generate and qualify your own leads, progressing opportunities through to close
  • Arrange meetings and sales appointments for both yourself and field-based colleagues
  • Accurately process sales orders and maintain up-to-date records within CRM systems
  • Contribute to team sales targets, KPIs, and overall performance goals
  • Use social platforms such as LinkedIn to engage customers and build your professional network

About You

We’re looking for someone who is commercially minded, target-driven, and passionate about building a career in sales.

You will bring:

  • Experience in telesales, inside sales, or account management (ideally within public sector or IT/technology)
  • A proven track record in a target-driven sales environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels
  • Good organisation and time management skills
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • A proactive, resilient, and results-focused mindset

Why Join?

  • Clear progression path into a full Account Manager role within 2–3 years
  • Work within a collaborative and supportive sales team
  • Gain exposure to public sector and technology solutions
  • Opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, commercial environment
