Junior Sales Representative
Job Title: Junior Sales Representative / BDM – Digital Manufacturing Software & Services
Location: Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Derby, Sheffield, Leeds
Department: Sales
Experience Level: Entry-Level / Early Career (0–2 years of experience)
About the Role
Are you fascinated by how things are made? Do you get excited about the future of technology, smart factories, Industrial Internet of Things and Digital Twins?
We are looking for an enthusiastic, tech-savvy Junior Sales Representative / BDM to join our dynamic sales team. In this role, your primary mission will be new business development — proactively identifying and winning new customers who want to digitalize their operations. As you build these relationships, you will also manage and nurture a select portfolio of existing accounts, helping them expand their use of our technology.
Don't worry if you don't have years of sales experience under your belt. If you have a natural curiosity for manufacturing, engineering, a passion for technology, and the drive to build a successful career in B2B sales, we will provide the training, mentorship, and tools you need to succeed!
What You Will Sell (Our Cutting-Edge Portfolio & Services)
You will represent some of the industry’s leading software solutions and expert services that help manufacturers design, simulate, and run their operations:
Robotics Simulation & Factory Throughput Simulation: Tools that create "digital twins" of factories, allowing companies to simulate and optimize their manufacturing processes and logistics before a single machine is built.
Factory Shop Floor Design: A 3D software solution used to design and optimize rapid, efficient factory layouts.
Advanced Planning & Scheduling: The "brain" of the factory, helping manufacturers schedule their production perfectly to meet customer demands.
Manufacture Execution Systems (MES): The software that monitors and controls the actual manufacturing process on the factory floor in real-time.
Consultancy, Training & Professional Services: Software is only part of the equation! You will also sell our expert consulting services, tailored training programs, and implementation support to ensure our customers successfully adopt and maximize the value of their new digital tools.
Key Responsibilities
Drive New Business: Proactively identify, research, and reach out to potential new customers (manufacturers, engineering firms, etc.) through cold outreach, social selling (LinkedIn), and networking.
Nurture Existing Accounts: Manage and grow relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities to introduce them to new software modules, training, or consulting services.
Learn and Grow: Actively participate in training sessions to become an expert on our software portfolio, service offerings, and sales methodologies.
Customer Engagement: Understand customer challenges and explain how our digital manufacturing solutions and services can solve their pain points.
Collaborate with Experts: Work closely with our technical pre-sales engineers and consulting teams to coordinate project proposals, software demonstrations and pre-sales activities.
Travel to Customer Sites: Hit the road! Traveling to customer sites is an important and exciting part of this role, giving you the chance to see real manufacturing environments in action and build strong, face-to-face relationships.
Pipeline Management: Maintain and update our CRM system to track your sales activities, leads, and opportunities.
Who You Are
Tech-Savvy: You love technology and are quick to learn new software applications. You feel comfortable discussing digital concepts.
Passionate about Engineering/Manufacturing: You have a genuine interest in how products are designed, built, and produced.
Great Communicator: You are an active listener and a confident speaker. You enjoy building relationships and connecting with people.
Eager to Learn: You have a growth mindset, welcome feedback, and are excited to kickstart a career in B2B software and services sales.
Resilient and Proactive: You are self-motivated, organized, and energized by the challenge of finding and winning new business.
Willing to Travel: You are excited about the prospect of traveling 40% - 50% to meet clients on-site.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience: Limited sales experience is absolutely fine! 0 – 2 years of experience in sales, customer service, business development, or a technical support role is a plus.
Education: A degree or diploma in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent passion and aptitude are highly valued.
Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for customer visits.
Access to a Car: You will need to have access to a car – mileage will be re-imbursed.
Language: Fluency in English at a business level - written and spoken. Any additional European languages will be a benefit.
What We Offer
Competitive Salary & Commission: A base salary with an attractive sales commission structure that rewards your drive and success. A base salary of £30K per annum and commission of £8K – 12K.
Training: A structured onboarding program covering sales techniques, our software portfolio, and our service delivery models.
Mentorship: Direct support and coaching especially during the first few months.
Career Progression: A pathway into consultative B2B sales and the ability to progress into a senior sales role.
Innovative Culture: Work with a supportive, forward-thinking team at the forefront of the industrial digital revolution.
Additional Benefits: Annual salary reviews, pension, Christmas closure (normally 4 days), 20 days holidays, extra holidays purchase scheme, remote working.
