Information Technology Project Manager
IT Project Manager – Solidcor
Location: Chesterfield (onsite)
At Solidcor, we design and manufacture next-generation fire doorsets, built for quality, compliance, and performance. Our mission is to make every building safer through precision engineering and innovation.
We’re looking for an IT Project Manager to take ownership of Solidcor’s technology and systems from the ground up. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment — setting up and maintaining hardware, supporting production systems, and driving smart, practical improvements across the business.
The Role
You’ll be the go-to person for all things IT at Solidcor, ensuring our people, systems, and production technology run smoothly and securely. You’ll manage day-to-day support while also stepping back to evaluate what’s working, what’s not, and how we can do better.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead IT projects for Solidcor end-to-end: capture requirements, define scope, create and maintain project plans, manage schedules and budgets, and own risk/issue management.
- Drive integrations between production systems, ERP, and Group platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI, Unleashed), working closely with Group IT and external suppliers.
- Oversee all onsite IT operations — networks, devices, user access, and connectivity
- Oversee the set up and maintenance of laptops, tablets and other hardware equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues quickly and effectively.
- Support integration between production systems, ERP, and Group platforms
- Monitor and maintain network performance and backup systems.
- Oversee IT procurement, installation, and maintenance of new or replacement equipment.
- Take the lead on cyber security compliance (Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus)
- Identify system bottlenecks or inefficiencies and propose practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Triage and resolve hardware and software incidents quickly and effectively using the ticketing system; escalate to Group IT where appropriate.
- Liaise with Group IT and external partners to deliver new IT initiatives and support site upgrades.
What You’ll Bring
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a broad IT generalist role — ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Admin Centre, Intune, and Unifi network administration.
• Hands-on hardware experience (laptops, PCs, printers, scanners, tracking devices).
• Experience with ERP systems such as Unleashed or similar manufacturing tools.
• Basic understanding of cyber security standards and network protection.
• A self-starting, practical attitude — comfortable rolling up your sleeves to fix issues as well as improve systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally across office and factory teams.
Why Solidcor
• A key role in shaping IT operations within a growing manufacturing business.
• Close collaboration with engineering, operations, and production leaders.
• Opportunity to influence technology decisions and process improvements.
• Backed by the Harmony Fire Group’s award-winning culture and benefits, including:
- Unlimited holiday
- Performance-based bonus
- Private Medical
- Takeaway Fridays & team events
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Pension & development support
