Day Rate: £650-£670/day inside IR35

Clearance: SC Cleared + NPPV3 required

THE ROLE

A leading technology consultancy is seeking an experienced Data Architect to own the architecture and technical design of SAS-based solutions across both Legacy SAS and SAS Viya environments within a large-scale public sector data programme. You'll act as the technical authority for all SAS-related decisions, working alongside data engineers, platform teams and vendors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own architecture and technical design across Legacy SAS and SAS Viya environments
• Provide design assurance and governance for SAS services, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards
• Define and document integration patterns between data warehouses and SAS platforms
• Advise on migration, coexistence and modernisation strategies from Legacy SAS to Viya
• Act as technical authority for SAS-related decisions, risks and trade-offs
• Collaborate with data engineers, platform teams and vendors to resolve complex issues

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong experience as a SAS Architect or Senior SAS Technical Lead
• Hands-on architectural experience with Legacy SAS (Base SAS, SAS Grid, SAS 9.x)
• Proven experience integrating SAS with enterprise data warehouses (on-prem and/or cloud)
• Background in regulated or large-scale enterprise environments

DESIRABLE

• SAS Viya in cloud or containerised environments
• Exposure to cloud platforms and data lake/lakehouse patterns
• Experience in multi-supplier or federated delivery models
