Advisor - Community Pharmacy
About Us
We're a VC-backed startup using AI to rethink how community pharmacies handle patient communication. We're building customer service agents and virtual receptionists purpose-built for pharmacy — AI that answers calls, handles routine patient queries, manages prescription and appointment requests, and takes the phones-ringing-off-the-hook pressure off branch teams, so pharmacists can focus on clinical care. We're backed by institutional and angel investors, and our founding team brings deep experience in AI, automation, and building for regulated markets.
The Role
We're looking for experienced pharmacy professionals, specifically people who run or help run multi-branch community pharmacy groups, to join us as Expert Advisors on a flexible, part-time basis. You'll work directly with our founders and product team to pressure-test our assumptions, validate our roadmap, and help us understand the real patient-communication and front-of-house pain points that pharmacy groups face every day.
This is a paid, part-time advisory engagement.
What you'll do
- Share your frontline perspective on how patient communication actually works across a group of branches — phone volumes, the queries that eat staff time, prescription and appointment requests, and where the front-of-house process breaks down
- Help us understand what a virtual receptionist or customer service agent would need to get right to be trusted in a pharmacy setting — clinical safety, data confidentiality, workflows, and patient experience
- Advise on the realities of running a multi-site operation: staffing across branches, SOPs and governance, PMR and dispensing software, and NHS contract and reimbursement workflows
- Review and stress-test product concepts, prototypes, and go-to-market strategies
- Introduce us to others in your network who might benefit from or contribute to what we're building
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in community pharmacy, with direct responsibility for a multi-branch group — as a superintendent or deputy superintendent, head of professional services or operations, pharmacy director, MD, or owner
- Experience operating at group scale — roughly 5 to 30 branches — where decisions about staffing, systems, and patient communication are made centrally
- Direct exposure to front-of-house and patient-communication operations across branches — phone load, query handling, prescription and appointment management, and the staffing pressure these create
- Familiarity with the realities of running branches at scale — SOPs, audits, contract requirements, and the dispensing/PMR software you work around day to day
- Strong opinions, loosely held — we want people who'll tell us what we're getting wrong, and who push hard on clinical safety, data confidentiality, and ROI
What's in it for you
- Flexible commitment: a few hours per month, on your schedule
- Compensation for your time (hourly or per-session, depending on preference)
- Early access to tools being purpose-built for your industry
- A seat at the table with a founding team that takes pharmacy seriously — not just as a market to disrupt but as a profession to empower
- Potential for a deeper advisory or equity-based role as we grow
