Infrastructure Analyst

Role Title: Storage Analyst

Location: Coventry (hybrid - 2 days onsite)

Duration: 6 months

Day Rate: £294 (Inside IR35)

Role Overview:

We are seeking a technically proficient Infrastructure Analyst – Storage to join an established Platform team. The successful candidate will provide expert support for production storage environments, troubleshoot and resolve incidents independently, and escalate to Senior Engineers when necessary. The role involves completing tasks to agreed quality standards and timescales, while identifying opportunities for process and procedural improvements. The Storage Analyst will contribute to team efficiency through accurate documentation, guidance, and collaboration with peers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently troubleshoot and resolve production service incidents.
  • Undertake technical tasks such as patching, storage allocation, script maintenance, and backup configuration.
  • Prioritise activities effectively, ensuring high-priority tasks are completed first.
  • Provide guidance and support to peers and other team members.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements within the team.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for systems, procedures, and changes.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Hands-on experience with IBM Flash Systems, including replication using Global Mirror, Metro Mirror, and Change Volumes.
  • Experience with cluster management within Spectrum Scale, Oracle, and ESXi environments.
  • Knowledge and application of Spectrum Scale protocols, including GPFS, NFS, and SMB in active-active topology.
  • Awareness or experience with GKLM (SKLM).
  • Understanding of how storage actions can impact system availability.
  • Provisioning and redaction of storage across IBM storage estates.
  • Proficient in Linux command line technologies.
  • Experience using ServiceNow for ticket management.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly AWS, and associated features.
  • Experience with AWS server administration.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery environments.
  • Understanding of VMware products, including vSphere, vRealize, and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cisco UCS and HPE infrastructure.
  • Understanding of virtualization architectures and experience providing support in such environments.
