IT Infrastructure Engineer

About The Role

Are you an Infrastructure Engineer ready for your next challenge? In this role, you'll provide technical support across a range of internal systems, working to agreed quality standards and SLAs.

The role is based on a Hybrid pattern with a minimum of one day per week in the office.

Core Duties

  • Install, configure, and support servers and management platforms, including VMware and Hyper-V
  • Document technical specifications and reports
  • Support infrastructure projects through capacity planning and design
  • Share knowledge across teams and support project activities
  • Provide BAU and out-of-hours support to the business

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support a varied server/network estate
  • Monitor systems, resolve issues, and ensure infrastructure integrity
  • Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and connectivity problems
  • Perform routine maintenance (e.g. backups, patching, hotfixes)
  • Recommend and implement solutions to optimize performance
  • Work on multiple concurrent systems and project initiatives

About You

You’ll bring relevant experience from a similar role, ideally within the equipment rental or construction industry. You’re calm under pressure, a strong communicator, and a team player with a proactive mindset.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong communication and customer relationship skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting across Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange and hypervisor platforms
  • Experience with cloud technologies, ideally Microsoft Azure and M365
  • Excellent organisation and time management
  • Methodical approach with attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret technical issues from non-technical descriptions
  • Operational IT support experience in a multi-site, complex network environment
  • Full UK driving licence
