  • Designing for testability and supporting automated production testing
  • Managing CAD component libraries and component obsolescence

  • Working with software and process engineers to automate calibration and test, and training production staff
  • Full system testing and writing characterisation reports
  • Investigating manufacturing issues and putting fixes in place so they don't recur
  • Working within ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 phase-gate processes, and liaising with suppliers and contract manufacturers
What you'll need
  • A degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • A proven track record of taking PCB designs from concept through to full production
  • Analogue and digital design experience with ARM-based microcontrollers and common interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN)
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analysers and signal generators
  • Strong prototyping and circuit-level fault-finding skills
  • Experience designing and testing for CE and EMC compliance
  • Experience of product and process verification and validation
  • A self-motivated, quality-focused team player who communicates well
Nice to have
  • Altium Designer, including HDI and fine-pitch BGA layout
  • A background in regulated medical devices
  • Python or MATLAB for test automation and data analysis
  • EMC pre-compliance testing using a spectrum analyser
  • FPGA or firmware development
  • Industrial communication protocols (ProfiNet, EtherNet/IP, OPC-UA)
  • Statistical process control (SPC, Cpk/Ppk), MRP systems and Git
What's on offer
  • Salary: £39- £45k + bi-annual profit share
