Rust Engineer – Remote UK

I'm partnering with a UK tech company that is building new systems with Rust at the core. If you enjoy solving real engineering challenges with async Rust, clean architectures, and high-performance distributed systems, this is worth a look.

You'll join a team that cares about quality engineering, strong performance, reliability, and simple, elegant solutions. The work spans backend services, real-time APIs, and data-intensive pipelines, all in production Rust.

What you will be doing

• Building backend services and APIs using async Rust
• Working with libraries and frameworks such as Tokio, Axum, and Tower
• Designing and implementing clean architectures for distributed systems
• Working with Postgres and similar stores using Diesel or SQLx
• Contributing to performance improvements, reliability, and system design
• Collaborating with other engineers to deliver high quality features

What we are looking for

• Solid Rust experience, ideally in production
• Familiarity with async patterns and the Tokio ecosystem
• Experience building APIs or services with Axum
• Comfort working with relational databases via Diesel or SQLx
• Understanding of distributed systems and backend engineering principles
• Interest in creating new services more than maintaining legacy systems
