Senior Business Analyst
Main Purpose The Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of essential technology projects that keep the organisation running and compliant. This is a permanent role within the Business Analysis team, working closely with Enterprise IT Services to support the priorities of the Head of IT Strategy & Planning. The role centres on a variety of essential, technically complex projects. These may include infrastructure upgrades, telephony enhancements, vendor transitions, platform integrations, system decommissions, access management improvements, and internal tooling updates, but the key requirement is experience across a diverse range of technology projects, not just deep specialism in one area. Working effectively with external vendors and suppliers is a critical part of this role. The successful candidate will need to ensure requirements are clearly communicated, delivery expectations are realistic, and accountability is maintained across third-party relationships. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in the operational trenches, tackling complex, often messy projects that require grit, resilience, and a keen sense of ownership. These initiatives may enhance functionality, ensure compliance, or maintain core infrastructure, and often involve working with a wide range of internal stakeholders. Main Responsibilities Contribution & Support
- Provide structured business analysis to support project teams across a range of enterprise IT initiatives
- Apply established analysis practices to help shape requirements, clarify scope, and inform delivery planning
- Support a culture of operational excellence and pragmatic problem-solving
- Contribute to documentation, decision-making, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle
- Lead requirements definition from discovery through to implementation, ensuring alignment with business value
- Develop and document technical, functional, and non-functional requirements with full traceability
- Produce clear user stories and workflows to support development and testing
- Facilitate workshops for ideation, stakeholder engagement, and requirements gathering
- Tailor stakeholder engagement approaches to suit organisational dynamics and improve decision-making
- Create wireframes and UX mock-ups when dedicated UX/CX resources are unavailable
- Collaborate with business and technical architects to ensure scalable, strategically aligned solutions

- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and process improvements
- Proven track record as a BA generalist, with experience supporting a variety of technical projects - such as infrastructure, access management, internal tooling, vendor-led solutions, and system migrations
- Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies, requirements gathering techniques, and process mapping tools (e.g. BPMN, UML, Visio)
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps (ADO) and Miro for collaboration and documentation
- Experience working within stringent governance frameworks, even if not aligned to a specific methodology
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills to balance business needs with technical feasibility
