We’re partnering with a forward-thinking tech organisation in Galway to expand a high calibre engineering group. This is a long-term contracting opportunity where you’ll work with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to large-scale system builds. This new team will focus on building secure, distributed and performance-driven applications that support next-generation digital products. Data engineering is a major focus and you’ll play a key role in shaping how data moves, scales and powers real-world use cases across platforms.

Your role

• Develop and optimise complex enterprise applications with modern Java tooling.
• Use Spring Boot, microservices architecture and cloud native tech to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Work closely with cross-functional Agile teams across design, engineering, and architecture.
• Explore emerging tech — from distributed ledgers and digital asset workflows to AI-driven automation and advanced data pipelines.

Your background

• 5+ years’ experience as a Java developer working on modern web or cloud-based systems.
• Strong skills in Java, microservices, Spring Boot, and cloud-native development.
• Bonus points for exposure to JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks like Angular or Node.js.
• Familiar with CI/CD practices, automated testing, and modern development pipelines.
• Curious, collaborative, and comfortable learning new tools and patterns.
