Supply Chain Resilience & SRM Implementation Lead

The role:

This newly established function will serve as the central coordinating point for supply chain intelligence across the Department, aiming to strengthen the visibility and understanding of key suppliers and networks that underpin operations.

The focus of the role includes driving supply chain reform and improving data monitoring capabilities. It will involve the mapping of supply chains to better identify vulnerabilities and interdependencies.

A key aspect of the position at this stage is the implementation of a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and risk tool system. This includes responsibility for configuring the system, establishing appropriate user access levels, setting permissions, and ensuring the correct security provisions are in place to protect sensitive information.

Key accountabilities:

  • Be the lead system integrator for the new Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)/Risk business management tool which is currently in the process of being procured.
  • Conduct analysis of suppliers and supply chains, engaging with teams across the organisation to accurately assess, monitor and mitigate risk from supply chain issues.
  • Provide advice and support in relation to commercial mitigation and resolution planning for supply chain issues.
  • Champion a continuous improvement culture towards internal processes for supply chain management, embracing digital enablement and Policy improvements.

Key criteria:

  • Proven experience in systems integration and implementation, particularly in leading the rollout of digital business tools (eg, SRM or risk management systems), from procurement through to deployment and user adoption.
  • Strong background in supply chain management, with demonstrable understanding of supply chain structures, operations, and interdependencies across complex organisations or government departments.
  • Expertise in risk identification and management, including the ability to assess, monitor, and mitigate supply chain risks through data-driven analysis and the development of robust commercial or operational response plans.
  • Strong research skills and a high level of aptitude for analysing, handling and presenting data and Intel for the purposes of producing evidence for policy advice and an aptitude to join the dots to see the bigger picture.
  • Understands public procurement regulations and the impact they have on all stages of the procurement process.
  • Ability to look for continuous improvements and efficiencies. Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the capability and experience to overcome challenges in order to deliver high quality business outcomes and deliver change.
  • Collaborative team-working skills and the ability to build networks across teams and divisions within the organisation and externally.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis to a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
