Smart Meter Technical Delivery Specialist

Key Responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team of around 3-5 people, with no direct staff management responsibilities.
• Work with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver technical changes, upgrades and maintenance.
• Communicate technical issues, risks and their potential impact on the business.
• Work regularly with senior stakeholders across IT and business teams.
• Ensure smart meter systems are reliable, secure and available.

Technical Responsibilities

Manage and support the following systems and processes:

• Azure Application Services
• Gamma Routers
• DCC physical and virtual gateway connections
• Database storage and SQL databases
• Azure Databricks storage
• Hardware Security Modules (HSM), including code changes and upgrades
• Siemens EnergyIP
• Data cleansing activities
• Database backup and retention policies
• Oracle databases

Skills and Experience Required

Essential Skills

• Experience in large-scale data migration and complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing cloud development and working with multiple suppliers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Azure, AWS or another relevant cloud administration or development certification.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS).
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of the Smart Energy Code (SEC) and its impact on network operators.
