Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to maintain, improve, and secure IT infrastructure across an SME environment.

You will ensure core systems, networks, endpoints, and Microsoft 365 services remain reliable and well managed, working across users, infrastructure, security, and wider group initiatives.

This role is focused on hands-on delivery, operational stability, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve SME-scale IT infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
• Manage Windows domain services, including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and core networking components.
• Resolve endpoint, user, and infrastructure issues, covering both walk-up support and escalated technical problems.
• Administer Microsoft 365 services, including Entra Admin, Defender, Endpoint Manager, Intune, Autopilot, Teams, and Exchange Online.
• Deliver infrastructure changes and project work with minimal disruption to users and business operations.
• Apply security best practice across systems, endpoints, networks, and cloud services.
• Monitor security alerts and contribute to incident response using Secureworks, Sophos Taegis, or similar platforms.
• Document changes, processes, and configurations to improve consistency and resilience.
