BI Lead
Rate: Negotiable depending on experience (Umbrella – Inside IR35)
Duration: 3 months initially
Location: Hybrid – ideally 2 days per week on-site, with some flexibility for 1 day per week. Some office presence is required.
We are seeking an experienced BI Lead to provide strategic leadership across Business Intelligence, performance, and insight functions supporting Adult Social Care and Housing services.
This is a high-profile role where you will act as the lead advisor on data, performance, and business intelligence, working closely with senior leaders to drive evidence-based decision making, service improvement, transformation programmes, and regulatory readiness.
You will lead a team of analysts and work across multiple stakeholders to ensure high-quality intelligence, forecasting, demand modelling, performance reporting, and data-driven insights are embedded across services.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the lead contact for Business Intelligence, performance, and insight across Adult Social Care and Housing services.
- Lead the delivery of intelligence and analytics to support service transformation, improvement, and reform programmes.
- Provide strategic insight, forecasting, and demand modelling to support operational and financial planning.
- Lead preparations for regulatory inspections, reviews, and assurance activities.
- Manage and develop a team of BI and data professionals, ensuring high-quality outputs and continuous improvement.
- Advise senior leaders on performance trends, risks, opportunities, and evidence-based decision making.
- Drive improvements in data quality, governance, and reporting standards.
- Identify opportunities for automation, innovation, and enhanced use of business intelligence tools.
- Promote self-service reporting and dashboard solutions to improve access to insight across services.
- Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, partners, and external organisations to support collaborative working and information sharing.
- Support statutory reporting, benchmarking exercises, and performance management frameworks.
- Significant experience leading Business Intelligence, performance, or analytical functions.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, forecasting, performance reporting, and business intelligence methodologies.
- Experience managing and developing analytical teams.
- Advanced knowledge of reporting and visualisation tools such as Power BI or similar platforms.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and influencing strategic decision making.
- Strong understanding of data quality, governance, and performance frameworks.
- Ability to translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations.
- Experience supporting transformation programmes and service improvement initiatives.
- Local government, housing, health, or adult social care experience would be highly advantageous.
