Our Team
Ensuring we have robust Model Risk Management frameworks in place is essential for us to comply with complex regulations and increasing regulatory expectations. We provide and evidence oversight in the form of independent validations, reviews, and challenge model development activities. We ensure we adhere to frameworks and policies by supporting identification and remediation of gaps in compliance.
We are looking to fill a Model Validation Manager position in Independent Model Validation. As part of the team, you'll help to secure the foundations of our business decisions by providing effective leadership of quantitative and qualitative validations across our model landscape.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and perform end-to-end model validations of new and revised models to ensure models are fit for purpose
- Lead a small team of model validators covering an array of model types and performing highly analytical validations
- Provide industry and statistical expertise to inform the discussion between Model Validation and Model Development during the model build and model review process
- Communicate complex technical subject matter clearly and concisely, both verbally and through written communication
- Produce qualitative and quantitative analysis for executive-level reports
- Utilise your technical skills in data manipulation and extraction
We need you to have
- Significant experience with model development and/or model validation in some of the following areas: IFRS 9, Stress Testing, Climate Risk, IRB
- Leadership skills and people management skills
- Highly analytical with a numerate degree or equivalent technical experience
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SAS/Python/R/SQL
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical specialists
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
It's a bonus if you have but not essential
- Technical knowledge of Model Risk Management and Capital Requirement Regulation
- Adept at engaging with leadership and key stakeholders to drive consensus and action
- Experience of leading a team in a fast-paced environment including effective resource management, positive behaviours, and performance coaching/development to build capabilities
