This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who enjoys working at the intersection of firmware and electronics hardware. You'll take ownership of embedded software development, contribute to new product development and help deliver reliable, high-quality electronic systems from development through to testing and manufacture.

The successful candidate will bring strong embedded C experience, a practical approach to engineering and the confidence to make technical decisions while working across a range of projects. Experience with microcontrollers, communications protocols and low-power or telemetry-based systems would be particularly relevant.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, develop and maintain embedded firmware using C.
  • Take technical ownership of firmware development across the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and debug firmware for microcontroller-based systems, ideally using PIC, ESP32 or similar platforms.
  • Work closely with electronics engineers on hardware integration, troubleshooting and product development.
  • Support the design, testing and validation of electronic products.
  • Work with communications technologies, telemetry and low-power embedded applications.
  • Contribute to RF testing, radio frequency performance and product compliance activities where required.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues across firmware and hardware interfaces.
  • Contribute to design reviews, development improvements and engineering best practices.
  • Support and share knowledge with other engineers within a collaborative, hands-on team.

Experience Required
  • Strong experience in embedded software development using C.
  • Proven experience working with microcontrollers and embedded systems.
  • Experience with PIC, ESP32 or comparable microcontroller platforms.
  • A good understanding of electronics hardware and the interaction between firmware and physical systems.
  • Experience debugging, testing and integrating embedded firmware.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take ownership of technical challenges.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to product development.

Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
  • PCB design and electronic hardware development.
  • Automotive electronics, telemetry or low-power applications.
  • RF, wireless communications or radio frequency testing.
  • EMC, compliance testing or product certification.
  • Supporting electronic products through development, manufacture and ongoing maintenance.

Please note: We cannot offer sponsorship for this role.

If you're an experienced Embedded Firmware Engineer looking for a role where you can combine strong C programming skills with practical electronics development and take ownership of real-world products, we'd be keen to hear from you.
