Strong preference for candidates coming from buy-side, trading, or capital markets environments.
Role Overview
We are seeking a technically strong Trade Application Support Engineer with 2–5 years' experience who brings more than traditional trade support exposure. The ideal candidate will have operated across multiple business areas, not just front-line support , and can demonstrate cross-functional contributions (e.g., working with developers, operations, risk, product, or infrastructure teams).
**The role requires a high-ownership mindset, the discipline to be on-site by 7:15am, Monday–Friday**
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the first escalation point for technical and application issues arising within the trading system.
- Oversee and manage production trading environments: monitoring, capacity management, troubleshooting, incident resolution, and change management.
- Work closely with traders, quants, developers, and external counterparties to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
- Coordinate and implement changes with external vendors, ensuring minimal disruption to trading activities.
- Plan, schedule, execute, and document change activities with a focus on stability and control.
- Contribute to improvements in documentation, build runbooks, and automate recurring operational processes.
- Engage in cross-team initiatives that demonstrate broader business involvement beyond core support.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2–5 years working in trade support, application support, or a similar technical role within buy-side, trading, or capital markets.
- Evidence of cross-functional exposure, must not have been confined solely to trade-support duties.
- Bachelor's degree from a Top 20 university (or international equivalent).
- Strong Linux systems knowledge.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Elasticsearch).
- Coding/scripting capability in Python or Java.
- Exposure to AWS and networking concepts (CCNA-level preferred).
