Cyber Security Specialist
Job Summary:
- A Cybersecurity Specialist protects an organization’s computer systems, networks, and data from cyber threats.
- This role involves monitoring systems for vulnerabilities, investigating security incidents, implementing protective measures, and ensuring compliance with security policies and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor networks and systems for security breaches or unusual activity
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Implement and maintain firewalls, antivirus, and security tools
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures
- Respond to and investigate security incidents and breaches
- Conduct risk analysis and suggest improvements to enhance security posture
- Stay up to date with emerging cyber threats and technologies
- Collaborate with IT and management teams to ensure data protection and compliance
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field
- Knowledge of network security, operating systems, and encryption
- Familiarity with tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISSP, or CISM (preferred)
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and incident response skills
