Learning Support Coach
iO Sphere | London | Hybrid | Full-time or part-time
You've helped adult learners who were overwhelmed, behind, or ready to quit — and you've turned them around. You know that the difference between someone dropping out and someone succeeding often comes down to the right support at the right time.
You're the steady hand, the motivator, the person who helps people build the habits and confidence to keep going. And you're organised enough to do that across 100+ learners without letting anyone slip through the cracks.
If you love helping working adults succeed — and you're energised by keeping things on track, not drained by it — we should talk.
About iO-Sphere
Traditional training is broken. People finish courses with theory but no real capability — the experience gap. We solve that.
At iO-Sphere, learners don't sit through lectures. They come to work in PRISM, our fully simulated company with 500m+ rows of real data, where they tackle realistic business problems and build practical skills they can use immediately. Combined with high-touch coaching from people who've actually done the work, we deliver real capability development — not just content consumption.
We're one of the UK's fastest-growing Data & AI training companies, running skills-levy funded programmes for working professionals in Data Analytics, AI Skills for the Future, and Data & AI Strategy.
Our learners are ambitious — but they're also juggling jobs, families, and life. That's where you come in.
The Role
You'll support 2-3 Technical Coaches, looking after 100-150 learners between them. Your job is to handle the chasing, tracking, and pastoral support that keeps learners on track — so our Technical Coaches can focus on the high-value coaching work that develops real capability.
This isn't technical coaching — it's the organisational, motivational, and pastoral support that makes the difference between someone finishing strong and someone falling away.
A big part of this role is keeping the machine running. You'll manage high volumes of learner check-ins, progress tracking, chasing, and record-keeping. If you're someone who finds satisfaction in a clean tracker and nothing falling through the gaps, you'll thrive here.
Day-to-day, this means:
- Managing a caseload of 100-150 learners across 2-3 Technical Coaches
- Running 1:1 support sessions for learners struggling with organisation, time management, study skills, or confidence
- Chasing learners who are behind, disengaged, or at risk — consistently and proactively
- Being the first line of support so Technical Coaches only get pulled in when their expertise is needed
- Keeping our learning platform (Aptem) accurate and up to date — progress records, session notes, intervention logs
- Tracking learner progress and flagging issues early before they become problems
- Helping learners interpret feedback and improve the clarity of their work
- Teaching core learning skills — note-taking, planning, prioritisation, reflective practice
- Running wellbeing and motivation check-ins that keep people moving forward
- Building structured support plans for at-risk learners
- Helping learners understand assessment expectations and what "good" looks like
- Supporting learners preparing for their final assessments with confidence
- Escalating safeguarding or wellbeing concerns promptly
- Coordinating with Technical Coaches to ensure nothing falls through the gaps
You'll also help us improve:
- Share insights into learner barriers so we can refine how we deliver
- Support onboarding so new learners integrate smoothly
- Help build a supportive, energising community across cohorts
The Impact
We're rated 4.9 stars on Google — and learner support is a big part of why. You'll help people who are changing careers and changing their lives. When someone who was ready to quit ends up succeeding, that's your impact.
We're also at an inflection point. 700+ learners trained, real momentum, and 2026 is when we scale. You'll help shape how we support learners as we grow — this isn't a rigid system, it's something you'll help build.
Must have:
- Experience supporting adult learners — in apprenticeships, adult education, bootcamps, corporate learning, or similar
- Background in coaching, mentoring, pastoral support, case management, or learner success
- Experience helping people who are changing careers or upskilling
- Warm, calm, structured coaching style
- Strong communication skills — you can motivate someone who's struggling
Critical for this role:
- Highly organised and detail-oriented — you'll be across 100+ learners at any time
- Comfortable with high volumes of admin, tracking, and chasing
- Reliable follow-through — nothing slips through the cracks
- Happy working in systems (learning platforms, trackers, dashboards) and keeping them accurate
- Can work autonomously and prioritise when everything feels urgent
Right mindset:
- Solutions-focused and compassionate
- Energised by keeping things on track, not drained by it
- Adaptable — every learner is different
- Comfortable in a fast-moving environment where your ideas get implemented
You don't need a technical background. You won't be teaching Data or AI — our Technical Coaches handle that. Your focus is helping learners succeed.
