Co-ordinating with others to define the most suitable materials for sub-components Calculations and testing to support fixing design (adhesives, fasteners, etc.) Design of parts to ensure good manufacturability. Design of jigs/fixtures for assembly. Customizing CAD/CAM/CAE software to model complex … or unusual designs. Creating digital proto-types and conducting design simulations for purposes of verifying reliability/safety and optimizing engineering processes.
