QA Engineer Apprentice (Changing Digital)

As an Associate QA Engineer, you will assist in defining, developing, and applying basic tests to analyse new software under the guidance of senior team members. You will support our delivery teams and Software Engineers by helping with test scripts, manual testing, and documenting defects.

Role

  • Assist in manual testing of web applications.
  • Learn to understand documented software requirements for web and mobile applications and assist in writing associated test scripts.
  • Help document defects and replication steps using tools such as Jira.
  • Communicate with project teams and Software Engineers to understand user requirements and support successful delivery.
  • Support in identifying, recording, documenting, and tracking bugs.
  • Assist in performing regression testing when bugs are resolved.
  • Contribute to QA updates and report preparations for key stakeholders.
  • Learn and help apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
  • Support monitoring of debugging process results.
  • Learn to engage with automated testing tools such as Test Project and BrowserStack.
  • Stay informed on new testing tools and strategies.

Throughout the apprenticeship learners receive coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated team who are there to ensure they get the most from their work experience.

Successful completion of this apprenticeship gives you an accredited Level 4 Software Tester, with training in how to:

  • Ensure that the software used within your business operates as intended.
  • Design and prepare test plans and conduct software testing as appropriate to ensure your software is fit for purpose.
  • Collect and interpret the results of testing and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Understand the software lifecycle and apply software development practices.
  • Document and report test results.
  • Store, manage and share test data in a secure manner.

The role offers a permanent role upon completion of the apprenticeship depending on performance.
