Application Support Engineer

I am currently seeking an Application Support Engineer to provide excellent standards of Technical Software support to users both internal and external.

The Application Support Engineer will ensure relevant Technology Divisional objectives are met.

Key responsibilities for the Application Support Engineer;

  • Provide technical support of systems across bespoke systems, both internal and external.
  • Share your knowledge with your colleagues and help train new starters
  • Configure software systems
  • Liaise with the Development team when required to help resolve technical support issues.
  • Work with Development to support system upgrades and system improvements.
  • Liaise with Project Delivery and Support to keep the customer informed of project progress where appropriate
  • Follow guidelines and procedures as set out in the Procedures Manual.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of the Procedures Manual as and when required.
  • Attend and proactively contribute to meetings when required.
  • Participate in regular training/ learning activities to maintain and develop skills and knowledge.

Key skills for the Application Support Engineer;

  • Strong SQL background.
  • Keep up to date with advances in business area, new methods and ways of working.
  • Confident and accurate use of departmental computer systems/databases.
  • Keep up to date with advances in technology, new methods and ways of working particularly MSDN.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Confident and accurate use of departmental computer systems/databases.
