Your new role
I am seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join a dynamic team. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with IT, Finance, and Operations departments to fulfil the business reporting requirements in a timely and consistent manner. This role is pivotal in developing and providing trusted data on performance and financial positions to facilitate informed decision-making across the company.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and enhance presentational reporting to support decision-making by Management, Committees, and Board.
  • Contribute to the ongoing data strategy in collaboration with management.
  • Automate the aggregation of disparate data sources into Data Lakes and Data Warehouses.
  • Develop SQL-based solutions (tables, views, stored procedures, SSIS packages) to produce critical datasets.
  • Liaise with subject-matter experts to ensure data integrity and reflect business requirements accurately.
  • Design and implement reporting solutions across various functions.
  • Publish interactive dashboards tailored for specific teams, drawing actionable conclusions.
  • Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of data within our core systems.
  • Create timely, efficient, and reliable reporting solutions.
  • Seamlessly integrate reporting solutions into broader business applications.
  • Oversee Tableau, ADF, and SQL Server reporting deployments.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports and support data investigations as needed.
  • Promote self-service business intelligence, empowering end-users to access information independently of IT.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to leverage infrastructure technology for optimal production.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Aptitude for compiling data into comprehensive reports, analysing trends, and making data-driven recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated with effective prioritisation skills to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • An analytical mindset with a "can do" approach to challenges.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Detail-oriented with proficiency in handling large data sets.
  • Relevant qualifications in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Sciences, or related fields.
  • Experience with Microsoft Cloud Data and Automation technologies, Tableau, Power BI, SQL Server, ADF, Windows SQL Servers, SSIS XML, data transformations, Oracle and T-SQL scripting, Excel, and creating presentation layers and business intelligence pyramids.
