Bromley Learning Disability Clinical Lead

Job summary

Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.

The Clinical Lead for Learning Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorder is a key post within the Bromley ICB team, working across One Bromley partners, the London Borough of Bromley, and other key stakeholders.

The postholder will provide clinical leadership to the Bromley Learning Disabilities (LD)/Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) programme, providing clinical input into the commissioning of improved services for people with LD and/or ASD. This may include clinical input into Care and Treatment Reviews (CTRs) and clinical input into work related to mortality reviews for people with learning disabilities.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will provide clinical leadership to the Bromley learning disabilities/autism spectrum disorder programme, providing clinical input into the commissioning of improved services for people with learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder.

The postholder will lead work to deliver physical health checks for people with learning disabilities in Bromley, working with primary care and other colleagues.

The postholder will lead work to deliver service and system transformation in relevant areas and will have a key role in delivering parts of the Bromley Learning Disabilities Strategy and Bromley ASD Strategy.

The postholder may be called upon to provide clinical input into Care and Treatment Reviews (CTRs) and/or to provide clinical input into work related to mortality reviews for people with learning disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorders.

Qualifications

Essential
  • Qualified care and/or clinical professional i.e. NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC etc. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Desirable
  • Certificate / qualification in programme management, service improvement or transformation

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of transformational/innovative service delivery, productivity and/or transformation policy implementation.
Desirable
  • Previous experience of being part of peer networks and collaborative working
  • Cross organisational and/or professional boundary collaboration experience

Knowledge

Essential
  • An in-depth understanding of health and care provision and awareness of current ICS/system policies and priorities
  • Champions the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion both within and outside of the organisation. Provide effective, inclusive and compassionate leadership ensuring all voices are heard and creating and nurturing a culture where staff feel safe to speak up.
Desirable
  • Good knowledge or cross professional transformation, digital solutions and innovative redesign.
