Bromley Mental Health and Quality Clinical Lead

Job summary

Clinical and Care Professional Leads support south east London-wide and borough programmes of work, therefore, there is an expectation that you currently work within south east London, and for borough based roles, within that borough.

The postholder will provide clinical leadership to support the delivery of the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, providing clinical input into the commissioning of improved services for adults with mental health challenges. This may include clinical input to support decision-making and service transformation in order to deliver excellent clinical outcomes for individuals.

As also the Clinical Lead for Quality, you will help to support identification, management and prevention relating the delivery of health care in Bromley. Quality structures are still being considered and implemented at both SEL level and local borough level. The role will support the evolution and implementation of local quality arrangements, working very closely with individual organisations to ensure that system arrangements support and enhance existing arrangements services.

Main duties of the job

o The postholder will lead work to deliver physical health checks for people on the Serious Mental Illness (SMI) register in Bromley, working with primary care and other colleagues.o The postholder will provide clinical input into the work of the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Partnership Board and will have a key role in delivering parts of the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy.o The postholder may be called upon to provide clinical input into individual cases to support the provision and/or commissioning of services to meet identified health needso Positively engage with local agencies and organisations and act as advocate for to improve the quality of health services in Bromleyo Actively look for potential opportunities with key contacts to improve overall service delivery and performanceo Work with the SEL ICB and ICB Bromley teams to develop local systems to improve identification of quality issueso Particularly consider quality and clinical governance issues in relation to integrated and new pathways of careo Support local Public Health professionals in relation to quality and clinical governance

Qualifications

Essential
  • Qualified care and/or clinical professional i.e. NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC etc. Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
Desirable
  • Certificate / qualification in programme management, service improvement or transformation

Experience

Essential
  • Experience of transformational/innovative service delivery, productivity and/or transformation policy implementation.
Desirable
  • Previous experience of being part of peer networks and collaborative working
  • Cross organisational and/or professional boundary collaboration experience

Knowledge

Essential
  • An in-depth understanding of health and care provision and awareness of current ICS/system policies and priorities
  • Champions the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion both within and outside of the organisation. Provide effective, inclusive and compassionate leadership ensuring all voices are heard and creating and nurturing a culture where staff feel safe to speak up.
Desirable
  • Good knowledge or cross professional transformation, digital solutions and innovative redesign.
