Job Details:

• As a Cloud Solution Architect you will undertake various architectural responsibilities, leveraging ample experience in architecture, design, and development to propose high-quality solutions and guidance to the Department’s Enterprise Architect and Architecture Review Board.
• Ensure operational excellence underpins all cloud solutions, emphasizing scalability, security, and efficiency in infrastructure
• Implement robust management and change control processes for cloud applications and enterprise architecture
• Apply principles of enterprise digital identity and security, networking, and infrastructure governance, addressing risk and compliance requirements
• Develop cloud strategies encompassing security and operating models by assessing cloud applications and hardware, and aligning cloud systems with operational requirements
• Collaborate closely with Cybersecurity to monitor and advise on cloud security posture
• Work alongside lead architects and engineers to establish and maintain architectural templates and operational documentation
• Support various stakeholders in cloud adoption efforts, establishing and promoting best practices
• Create designs and architecture proposals for cloud infrastructure, covering networks, servers, storage, and security systems, ensuring alignment with the Department’s digital transformation objectives and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service

Skill & Experience Required:

• Proven experience with Azure cloud services, different cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud deployment models (public, private, hybrid, multi)
• Implementation and governance following Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) best practices
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft 365 tenancy configuration and strategic setup
• General interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills, specifically regarding the engagement of various stakeholders to properly articulate cloud reports and technical aspects of a proposed Cloud architecture
• Relevant Microsoft Azure or AWS certifications
• Proven familiarity with the concepts and the implications of containerization and/or enterprise Kubernetes, and the impacts on application development and deployment (e.g. stateless, “cloud-ready”, immutability, etc.) 
• Configuring the cloud infrastructure, implementing security measures, and monitoring the performance of applications in the cloud to meet DAFM’s performance, scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness requirements
• Write and develop cloud automation routines for managing and scaling cloud environments and applications
