Job summary

The post-holder will take a lead role in developing new data extracts from and data feeds into existing or new Trust Information Systems. As such, the post will play a key role in the selection and deployment of all new systems.

In addition, the post-holder will work as part of the team to maintain existing data extract processes from operational system which populate the Trust Data Warehouse, ensuring clear and accurate documentation covering all processes is in place and supplemented with routine data integrity audit and checking procedures.

One of the key responsibilities of the Information Team is the provision of accurate and timely information to satisfy both internal & external corporate reporting requirements. This includes Contract Monitoring, SUS/PbR submissions, Board and Executive dashboards, Operational Management Reports and Performance Indicators.

This post is tasked with providing accurate and reliable data to meet these reporting needs via the Trust Data Warehouse. In order to fulfil the challenge, the post-holder requires a strong technical, organization and problem-solving skillset.

  1. Act as the lead technical specialist on the design, development, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of the Trust Data Warehouse.
  2. Take a leading role in the systematic review, monitoring, and improvement of data integrity through automated validation processes. This will require judgement in assessing highly complex technical information to lead the Trust data warehouse.
  3. Be responsible for supplying accurate and timely data feeds to all approved recipients of data from the Trust Data Warehouse.
  4. Support Power BI development by working with the information team to develop the required datasets for Power BI dashboards and manage the technical processes of deploying Power BI dashboards supported by the development team.
  5. Diagnose and investigate technical problems methodically, applying appropriate tests and gathering sufficient information to enable the delivery of robust solutions.
  6. Manage work-streams as part of the development and implementation of new information systems and infrastructures where appropriate.
  7. Responsible for the maintenance of all information team systems including ensuring maintenance and upgrades are within delegated budget.
  8. Be proactive in ensuring Information Systems are prepared for changes in local and national guidelines.

Education / Qualifications

Essential
  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent in relevant field
  • Post graduate informatics qualification or equivalent in experience

Skills & Abilities

  • Project management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work with non-technical users to create specifications for data interfaces with Trust Information Systems
  • Ability to communicate complex technical issues to a wide audience.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical reasoning skills

  • Advanced querying and interrogation against large relational database management systems
