Apprentice Security Engineer
Role
You will need excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team while meeting tight deadlines.
You should be committed to developing new skills and gaining knowledge of the wider security industry.
The ideal candidates will need the confidence to deal with clients in a professional manner, be reliable, adaptable, conscientious and able to follow instructions.
Areas you can expect to be trained and work on inlcude; Intruder alarms, CCTV systems, and door access control systems.
Training
Initially, the apprentice will work alongside experienced engineers, learning and developing in the field of security.
The qualification you would be studying towards is the Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard. You will also work towards Functional Skills English and maths level 2 if required.
Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release at their Warrington Centre. You will attend centre one week every eight weeks.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies.
You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the company require you to complete.
The employer will mentor and coach you on the job. You will also shadow, learn and get involved in all aspects of Fire and Security Alarms.
You will be provided with full training on company standards and industry best practices.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you can expect to be working independently, but still very much part of the team in the event you are offered a full time position.
