IT Support Technician Apprentice

PETA are proud to be working with The Cowplain School to recruit and train a new IT Support Technician Apprentice.

Role

Joining the team as an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist with simple routine repair and maintenance of ICT equipment
  • Checking printers are online and maintained weekly
  • Carry out simple networking tasks, eg password resets and assigning access rights
  • Maintain network security through the use of appropriate products
  • Maintain an inventory of spare parts used in the ICT department
  • Contacting and liaising with hardware suppliers for the purchasing of spares
  • Deciding on and organising any repairs to ICT hardware around the campus
  • Maintain users and user accounts on both the local and cloud networks
  • Investigate software regarding its potential use on the school network

Training

As an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be studying towards a level three ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is 22 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from The Cowplain School team combined with 25 days of off the job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham.

A progression opportunity will be offered for the successful candidate upon completion of their apprenticeship.
