Overview
Are you a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst with a passion for IT & Technology and a proven track record in mergers, acquisitions, and integration?
At Gallagher Benefits Services (GBS), we are seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join our UK team. This pivotal role focuses on the technology aspects of Mergers, Acquisitions, and Integration ensuring the seamless integration of newly acquired entities into GBS and the wider Gallagher business operations and technology environment.
This role will be part of a small team, so we are looking for a candidate who is comfortable working by themselves and to be happy to have some project management duties as well as being the main Business Analyst.
We offer flexible hybrid working and this role can be based anywhere in the UK. We do require travel to office locations when required so that would be an expectation.
How you'll make an impact
M&A Analysis and Strategy
- Conduct detailed operational, strategic, and financial analysis of potential acquisition targets’ technology environments, assessing their fit with Gallagher’s existing systems.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate risks, opportunities, and synergies associated with M&A activities.
- Develop business cases and provide recommendations to support acquisition decision-making processes.
Due Diligence
- Lead and coordinate technology due diligence, including IT operations, bespoke and third-party applications, and associated costs.
- Identify key risks and opportunities during the due diligence process and propose mitigation strategies and potential synergies.
Merger Integration Planning and Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive post-merger integration plans, ensuring alignment with Gallagher’s operational standards and technology stack.
- Coordinate IT integration with central IT services such as finance, HR, business operations, marketing, legal, and compliance.
- Monitor and manage integration timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
- Identify and address integration challenges, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, HR, corporate and GBS IT, and business operations, to ensure successful execution of M&A and integration projects.
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external advisors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Project Management
- Manage end-to-end M&A and integration projects, including timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Utilise project management tools and methodologies to ensure efficient execution of initiatives.
- Identify and address project risks, working with relevant stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and documentation for senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to M&A and integration activities.
About You
- Proven previous experience working as a Business Analyst and Project Mannager in business technology analysis, with a focus on application integration.
- Experience working on large M&A integration projects.
- Fantastic analytical skills, including being able to manage financial aspects of projects.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Planview, MS Project).
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools.
- A deep understanding of post-merger integration processes, including cultural alignment, operational consolidation, and systems integration.
- Experience in managing cross-functional integration teams and driving collaboration across departments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a changing environment.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and a full driving licence would be preferred but is not essential.
