Solution Engineer
As a Solution Engineer, you will act as a trusted technical and strategic partner to enterprise prospects throughout the buying journey. You’ll work closely with customers to understand their objectives, challenges, and environment, and translate those insights into tailored demonstrations and solution narratives that clearly communicate business value.
This is not a demo‐only role. Live demonstrations are just one part of a broader remit that includes deep discovery, technical validation, proof‐of‐value engagements, RFP and security responses, and ongoing collaboration with internal teams to shape deal strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with enterprise prospects to uncover business needs, success criteria, and decision drivers through structured discovery conversations.
- Design and deliver outcome‐driven demonstrations that connect platform capabilities to real business challenges, emphasizing measurable impact rather than feature walkthroughs.
- Engage with a broad range of stakeholders, from hands‐on practitioners to senior executives, adapting messaging to different audiences.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor across the sales cycle, addressing questions related to architecture, integrations, security, and compliance while offering strategic guidance grounded in industry best practices.
- Translate customer requirements into fit‐for‐purpose solution designs, including proposed configurations or architectures, and articulate the expected business value using quantitative and qualitative measures.
- Collaborate closely with Sales to influence evaluation criteria, strengthen deal strategy, and overcome technical or commercial roadblocks.
- Lead proof‐of‐value or trial engagements by configuring environments, guiding customer evaluations, and validating outcomes against agreed success metrics.
- Use modern presales tools, including AI‐assisted workflows, to accelerate research, draft initial technical responses, summarize calls, and support scalable deal execution.
- Partner cross‐functionally with Product, Engineering, and Customer teams to relay customer insights, influence roadmap considerations, and support smooth post‐sale transitions.
- Participate in internal reviews by clearly articulating technical perspectives, risks, and recommendations.
- Contribute thought leadership by staying current on enterprise technology trends and sharing practical perspectives with customers and internal teams.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in a solution engineering, presales, or technical consulting role within a SaaS or enterprise software environment.
- Strong technical foundation in enterprise systems, including solution design, integrations (APIs, event‐based integrations, identity and access concepts), and security or compliance considerations.
- Proven discovery skills, with the ability to move beyond surface‐level requirements and uncover underlying business drivers.
- The ability to tell clear, customer‐centric stories that link technology capabilities to tangible business results.
- Comfort using generative AI and modern productivity tools to enhance research, content creation, and presales efficiency.
- A proactive, ownership‐driven mindset with the ability to operate independently, learn quickly, and navigate ambiguity.
- Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal, across technical and non‐technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of managing multiple opportunities and stakeholders while maintaining attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% as needed.
- Additional European language skills are a plus, particularly French or German.
