Business Development Manager

1st Step Solutions are supporting a M&E contractor who have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager to join their growing team and help drive the next phase of their expansion.

Our client is a M&E contractor specialising in the delivery of high-quality mechanical and electrical projects across both the private and commercial sectors. With a strong reputation for technical excellence, reliability, and client satisfaction, they pride themselves on delivering innovative and sustainable solutions.

Role Overview
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and growing client base. You will play a key role in shaping the future by generating leads, managing relationships, and helping secure M&E projects across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial.

Key Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in target sectors.
Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, consultants, contractors, and developers.
Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company goals.
Prepare and deliver compelling pitches, proposals, and presentations.
Track market trends, competitor activity, and potential partnership opportunities.
Maintain accurate records of business development activity and pipeline.
Work closely with senior leadership to achieve growth targets.

Key Requirements
Proven experience in business development, sales, or client management within the M&E contracting, construction, or building services sectors.
Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical services and the project lifecycle
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
Strong network within the construction or M&E industry is advantageous.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Full UK driving licence.
