Business & Data Analyst Contract
Finstech Consulting are looking for a Business Analyst candidate to work with our Insurance Broking client, within the Technology part of the business. Our client is looking to implement a new global application, and you will be part of the initial team to kick off the project, working alongside a 3rd party software provider.
The successful candidate will work as part of a fast-paced project delivery team, working closely with internal business stakeholders across different geographies as well as 3rd party vendors. It is essential that the successful candidate has experience of data mappings, data migration and dealing with 3rd party software implementations, ideally within a commercial insurance setting.The successful candidate will take the lead in gathering requirements from business stakeholders as well as collating feedback via forums from existing users. The successful candidate will translate these business requirements and feedback into tangible technology outcomes, defining & developing technical and non-technical requirements, whilst ensuring these requirements fit in with the strategy of the application. You will also be responsible for analysing data, process mapping/modelling and technical requirements e.g. API s etc. Working alongside the project team, excellent written communication and document preparation skills are also vital for this role.
Ideally, we re looking for someone who can get into the Ipswich/London office at least 2 days a week but a fully remote role may be available for the right candidate. The role is outside of IR35, on a SOW basis for which the specific deliverables are expected to take around 6 months to complete. All necessary hardware will be provided by the client as access to their networks is required to successfully support the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis Lead discovery workshops with local and global stakeholders to capture business requirements.? Map current claims processes and design future-state workflows aligned with platform capabilities.? Define functional specifications for platform configuration and integration with existing technology.? Collaborate with change, training, and support teams to ensure readiness for go-live.? Support country-specific adaptations and regulatory compliance (e.g., retention periods, legal warehousing).
Data Analysis & Migration Conduct data mapping for claims data capture and document structures.? Prepare and validate migration files for open and closed claims, ensuring historical reporting capabilities.? Coordinate with IT and data engineering teams on ETL processes and data lake ingestion.? Ensure secure handling of sensitive data and adherence to retention ? Support Power BI reporting setup for analytics and operational MI.
Key Experience
Proven experience in business and data analysis within insurance or broking environments.? Strong understanding of claims lifecycle, data governance, and regulatory frameworks.? Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).? Experience with data migration projects and legacy system decommissioning.? Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.? Experience in multi-country deployments and regional configuration.? Knowledge of document management systems (DMS) and workflow automation.
