Project Manager – Network Infrastructure Rollout

  • Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (FTC)
  • Location: Hybrid (2 days London office, 3 days WFH)
  • Security Clearance: BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) eligible.
  • Salary £44K to 53K

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the concurrent delivery and execution of multiple infrastructure modernisation workstreams for a central government end client, including Fibre Upgrades, Network Convergence, WiFi rollouts, and UPS installations.
  • Develop, maintain, and dynamically re-sequence a rolling multi-site demand plan that works with site operational constraints, restrictions, and access windows.
  • Act as the central interface to coordinate and schedule attendance for external teams and on-site support staff to manage delivery and transition activities across regional sites.
  • Manage each deployment through its delivery lifecycle, including support, oversight of installation works, and evidence capture for final site acceptance packs.
  • Maintain high-standard ticketing in Jira. Track and mitigate project RAID logs, translating technical progress into clear updates for senior management.
  • Manage implementation dependencies ensuring supply chain and installation slippage is mitigated, protecting milestone delivery.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Experience & Skills

  • The Project Manager is responsible for sequencing, scheduling, access planning, and holding third-party delivery partners accountable to ensure the programme is delivered on time.
  • Proven track record managing large-scale, multi-site IT hardware, network, or telecom rollout infrastructure projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira for daily ticket management, progress mapping, and reporting.
  • Experience driving multiple external or outsourced engineering teams simultaneously across concurrent site lifecycles rather than managing linear timelines.
  • Confident communicator capable of pivoting between technical jargon with engineers and non-technical, outcome-focused updates for management stakeholders.
  • Experience tracking project baselines, risk mitigation, and strict change control metrics.

Technical Knowledge & Desirable Skills

  • Solid familiarity with networking concepts and terminology (specifically switches, VLANs, patching, structured cabling, fibre termination, operational WiFi deployment, and UPS power environments) to comfortably challenge engineering delays and support service verification.
  • Prior experience collaborating with or managing delivery dependencies through major telecom systems integrators or providers is highly desirable.
  • Formal project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, AgilePM).
