Penetration Tester
Penetration Tester required for a fully remote permanent role.
Salary approx. £40-70k DOE
We are seeking a Penetration Tester to join a growing cyber security team within a global managed security services provider. This role offers the opportunity to work across public and private sector environments, helping organisations identify vulnerabilities and strengthen their security posture.
You will deliver penetration testing and vulnerability assessments across a range of environments while contributing to the development of a growing cyber security practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct penetration tests and vulnerability assessments across client environments
- Test infrastructure, web applications, APIs, mobile, WiFi, cloud and Kubernetes environments
- Produce clear technical reports and present findings to clients
- Provide remediation advice and security improvement recommendations
- Support the Security Operations Centre with threat and vulnerability insights
- Contribute to internal documentation, procedures and service development
- Support and mentor junior team members
Skills & Experience
- 1+ year penetration testing experience
- Cyber security degree or equivalent experience
- OSCP or CREST certification (or working towards)
- Experience testing:
- Infrastructure
- Web applications and APIs
- Cloud, mobile and wireless environments
- Familiar with tools such as:
- Nmap
- Burp Suite
- SQLmap
- Kali Linux
- Metasploit
- Knowledge of OWASP testing methodologies
- Experience with vulnerability management tools (Tenable, Rapid7 or Qualys)
- Strong technical reporting and communication skills
Desirable
- 3+ years penetration testing experience
- Public sector IT Health Check experience
- Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, NIST or DORA
- Experience supporting Cyber Essentials Plus
