Sales Development Representative (SDR) / Business Development Representative (BDR) - PropTech
The business operates within the rapidly growing PropTech sector, delivering smart building solutions that combine energy metering, data capture and sensor technologies with cloud-based platforms. With strong growth plans in place, they are looking to expand their commercial team with individuals who are driven and take pride in winning new business.
The Role
This is a proactive Sales Development Representative (SDR) position focused on generating new business opportunities. The role centres on identifying and engaging decision-makers within large organisations, with the goal of booking high-quality meetings for the sales team.
This position is suited to someone who enjoys outbound sales and wants to develop within the energy management and smart buildings space. There is a clear progression path into a closing Sales Executive role within 1–2 years.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactive prospecting through cold calling, cold email and LinkedIn outreach
- Building and working through targeted account lists focused on large non-domestic buildings, multi-site organisations, NHS Trusts and commercial landlords
- Researching companies and stakeholders to identify high-quality leads
- Qualifying opportunities before passing them to the sales team
- Supporting the execution of outbound campaigns across defined industries
- Maintaining accurate records of all prospect interactions within CRM systems
- Following up inbound leads and marketing-generated opportunities
- Engaging with existing customers to gather feedback, identify new opportunities and support case study creation
What They Are Looking For
- Proven experience in appointment setting or lead generation, ideally targeting large organisations with complex buying processes
- A self-starter who is motivated, resilient and comfortable with high-volume outreach
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and CRM systems
