About the Company
My client is a fast-growing business delivering smart building solutions through advanced metering, sensor tech, and cloud platforms. They’re looking for a hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead smart metering projects with confidence and technical expertise.
The Role
You’ll take full ownership of smart metering and sensor integration projects, from site survey and system design to installation, commissioning, and final handover. It’s a client-facing role with regular UK travel and the occasional overseas visit.
You’ll work with IoT protocols like BACnet, Modbus, LoRaWAN, and NB-IoT, helping integrate systems into cloud platforms.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Survey sites and design tailored smart energy solutions
- Deliver and commission metering and IoT systems
- Configure devices for cloud integration
- Manage projects end-to-end, including client handover
- Lead subcontractors and mentor junior staff
- Be the main contact for clients, suppliers, and partners
- Troubleshoot hardware, networking, and software issues
What You’ll Need
5+ years’ experience in smart metering, IoT, or building tech
Strong understanding of BACnet, Modbus, LoRaWAN, and NB-IoT
Hands-on delivery and integration experience
Solid IT and cloud skills
Confident communicator with a proactive mindset
Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally abroad
Nice to Have
- Experience with energy management systems
- Knowledge of commercial/industrial buildings
- Awareness of IoT cybersecurity
- Familiarity with network cabling and wireless setups
