Electronic Systems Engineer - Engine Systems - 12-month contract 

Location: Peterborough, UK
Hours: 37 per week
Contract: Full-time

Rates: Market Rates p/hr

Our Client, a global leader in industrial innovation, as an Electronic Systems Engineer within our Integrated Components and Solutions division. You'll be part of a collaborative team driving the development and integration of cutting-edge electrical and electronic control systems for off-highway powertrain applications.

What you'll do:

• Develop and support engine electronic systems from concept through post-production.
• Define system architecture, select components, and support validation and FMEA activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and support product development.
• Work hands-on in our labs, engine test cells, and with real-world machines.

What we're looking for:

• Degree-qualified engineer with several years post-graduation experience in the broad range of systems engineering activities involved in the development of Electronic Engine, machine or automotive control systems. Alternatively, a suitably aligned HNC/NVQ level 4 with additional relevant experience as shown below.
• Demonstrated experience of:
  • Integration activities of the system for both fault finding and for Electronic system design ie: down to PWM, analogue and communications signals and experience of how to integrate the Electronic components together.
  • Actively collecting and developing detailed Electronic related customer requirements, resulting in Electronic technical specifications
  • Defining Electronic features and coordinating the development of them by other teams.
  • Performing system verification testing of components and of software features
  • Participation in FMEA development
• Understanding internal combustion engines and how they are controlled - Governor etc.

Desirable Tools/Experience:

• Off-highway Electronic control system development experience (or comparable experience with automotive, marine or military vehicle control systems)
• Knowledge of engine systems associated to the electronic system eg: Fuel and Air system etc.
• Requirements management (DOORS, Teamcenter etc.)
• Controller Area Networks (CAN), Vector CANape and CANalyzer tool experience,
• Proficient in oscilloscope use in development.
• Product structuring and configuration tools eg: Siemens Teamcentre Engineering, Creo.
• PPAP or FMEA facilitator and design validation planning experience
