Remote Backend Engineer - Platform Engineering

The position We’re looking for a Software Engineer with experience in Python, C#, React and Node.Js to join our APM (Asset Performance Management) team. You will work on both front-end and backend features and contribute to our Python-based components and integrations. You will collaborate closely with product owners, designers, and other engineers to develop a market-leading SaaS application. This is an opportunity to shape the architecture, contribute to new feature development, and improve the performance and reliability of a product used to improve the performance of renewable assets every day. The role is based in Glasgow three days per week. Accountabilities
- Design, build, and maintain features across the full stack using Python, C#, React, Node.Js & TypeScript.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features to an agreed roadmap that delivers product and business value.
- Ensure high code quality through best practice, testing, code reviews, and continuous integration.
- Deliver change that positively impacts system performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Participate in architectural and technical design discussions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency .
- Strong proficiency with Python, ideally as part of a SaaS solution.
- Working experience of React, TypeScript, and modern front-end build tools.
- Solid experience building Node.Js applications and APIs.
- Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/TypeScript
- Experience with back-end development in C#.
- Exposure to Databricks is desirable.
- Proficiency in working with data structures such as relational databases.
- Understanding of cloud platforms such as Azure and containerisation tools like Docker.
- Experience with version control, CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Experience with authentication, multi-tenancy, and billing in SaaS applications.
- Experience working in an Agile environment within Scrum Teams.
- Ability to communicate progress to managers and collaborate with fellow engineers.
- Solid understanding of software design patterns and best practices.
- Ability to work in a distributed team.
