Weβre looking for a proactive and hands-on Technical Operations Engineer to support and enhance a fast-growing, technology-driven operational estate.
This is a service-led role with real ownership of system performance, reliability, and uptime across multiple live environments. Youβll play a key part in maintaining and improving a distributed infrastructure made up of IoT devices, networking systems, and automated technologies.

π§ Key Responsibilities
IoT & Infrastructure Management
- Maintain, monitor, and optimise IoT devices and hardware (e.g. cameras, edge devices, kiosks, tablets, networking equipment)
- Manage deployment, configuration, and lifecycle of infrastructure across multiple sites
- Proactively monitor system health, connectivity, and performance
- Drive preventative maintenance and automation initiatives
System Performance & Reliability
- Monitor uptime KPIs and ensure service stability
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party suppliers on system improvements
- Support upgrades, migrations, and new site deployments
Technical Support (End-to-End Systems)
- Troubleshoot full system flows (device β network β backend β payment/reporting systems)
- Support integrated platforms and connected devices
- Work with vendors to enhance system resilience and performance
Operational & Site Support
- Support live operational sites with a strong service mindset
- Identify and resolve infrastructure inefficiencies
- Lead technical input on new site rollouts and enhancements
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Asset & Deployment Management
- Manage device procurement, stock, and lifecycle planning
- Ensure equipment is configured and deployment-ready
- Maintain accurate inventory and asset records
- Coordinate logistics across teams and suppliers
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain technical documentation, configurations, and network diagrams
- Create SOPs and troubleshooting guides
- Manage tickets and change requests via service platforms
- Ensure compliance with security and data protection standards
β About You
Experience
- 5+ years in IT support, infrastructure, technical operations, or field engineering
- Experience managing distributed systems or IoT environments
- Comfortable working across multiple live sites
- Experience mentoring or leading initiatives
Technical Skills (Essential)
- Strong networking knowledge (IP addressing, VPNs, troubleshooting)
- Experience with routers, switches, and firewalls
- Solid Windows OS knowledge (logs, command line, system configuration)
- Remote device management
- Root cause analysis and problem-solving
- Strong documentation and asset management discipline
- Understanding of endpoint security
Desirable Skills
- Experience with ANPR, CCTV, or sensor-based systems
- Familiarity with edge devices (e.g. Raspberry Pi, industrial PCs)
- Exposure to device management or monitoring platforms
- Knowledge of cloud systems, APIs, or Microsoft 365

π Requirements
- Able to commute to Croydon 4 days per week
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
