About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and commercially minded Legal & Compliance Officer to join a growing, technology-focused organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of law, business, and innovation.

You will play a key role in supporting legal, regulatory, and compliance activities across the business, ensuring strong governance, managing risk, and maintaining compliance across international operations. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, this position offers a broad and varied workload.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Management
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, confidentiality, licensing, and consultancy contracts
  • Manage the full contract lifecycle and maintain accurate records
  • Support commercial teams with negotiations and risk assessment
Compliance & Regulatory
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection (GDPR), export controls, and corporate governance requirements
  • Develop and implement internal compliance policies and procedures
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and compliance monitoring
  • Deliver training and guidance to employees
Legal Risk & Advisory
  • Provide practical, business-focused legal advice across the organisation
  • Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks
  • Support dispute resolution and litigation where required
  • Promote a culture of ethical conduct and compliance
HR & Employment Law
  • Advise on employment law matters including contracts, policies, and employee relations issues
  • Support disciplinary and grievance processes
  • Ensure HR practices remain legally compliant
Intellectual Property
  • Assist in managing and protecting intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets
  • Liaise with external advisors on filings and IP strategy
External Counsel
  • Manage relationships with external legal advisors
  • Coordinate legal support and ensure cost-effective use of services
About You
Essential
  • 5+ years' experience in commercial law, compliance, or regulatory environments
  • Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
