About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and commercially minded Legal & Compliance Officer to join a growing, technology-focused organisation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of law, business, and innovation.
You will play a key role in supporting legal, regulatory, and compliance activities across the business, ensuring strong governance, managing risk, and maintaining compliance across international operations. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams, this position offers a broad and varied workload.
Key ResponsibilitiesContract Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier, distribution, confidentiality, licensing, and consultancy contracts
- Manage the full contract lifecycle and maintain accurate records
- Support commercial teams with negotiations and risk assessment
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including data protection (GDPR), export controls, and corporate governance requirements
- Develop and implement internal compliance policies and procedures
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and compliance monitoring
- Deliver training and guidance to employees
- Provide practical, business-focused legal advice across the organisation
- Identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks
- Support dispute resolution and litigation where required
- Promote a culture of ethical conduct and compliance
- Advise on employment law matters including contracts, policies, and employee relations issues
- Support disciplinary and grievance processes
- Ensure HR practices remain legally compliant
- Assist in managing and protecting intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets
- Liaise with external advisors on filings and IP strategy
- Manage relationships with external legal advisors
- Coordinate legal support and ensure cost-effective use of services
Essential
- 5+ years' experience in commercial law, compliance, or regulatory environments
- Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
