UX Researcher Maternity Cover - 12-month FTC
A renowned charity is looking for a talented User Experience Specialist to join on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This mostly remote role based out of a Dorset office allows a dedicated UX professional to lead user research and shape intuitive digital experiences that contribute to the charity’s lifesaving work.What you’ll be doing The successful candidate will be a talented UX practitioner with extensive experience planning and conducting user research. They will be joining a team that really values research and is given the freedom to explore a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Depending on the project, the UX Specialist will be entrusted with carrying out moderated user testing, workshops, card-sorting, tree-testing, surveys and more.They will translate research findings into actionable insights, informing navigation models and refining existing digital products for usability and consistency. As a UX advocate, the specialist will help develop the organisation’s UX strategy, promote best practices internally, and support guidelines and templates that elevate usability across the charity.Joining a team of 4 skilled, research-driven UX professionals, the successful candidate will be working on internal tools that facilitate the charity’s day-to-day operations, as well as websites and applications enabling donations and fundraising. The digital team is a collaborative, supportive environment with strong UX maturity and will suit a process-driven and values-driven researcher or designer.What experience you’ll need to apply
- Significant experience in user-centred design.
- Track record planning and running qualitative and quantitative research.
- Proficiency in tools like Figma, Axure, etc., for prototyping
- Experience crafting UX deliverables—personas, journey maps, wireframes, user flows
- Ability to analyse findings, identify meaningful patterns, and present insights to stakeholders
- Strong communication skills to influence teams and embed UX across the organisation
