Sales Director

A growing UK-based enterprise SaaS client of ours is seeking a Sales Director to lead its commercial growth strategy. The company provides a specialist SaaS platform used by professional services organisations to improve workforce planning and operational performance.
This role requires a hands-on commercial leader who can combine strategic thinking with active sales execution. You will lead the commercial team, drive revenue performance, and play a key role in the next phase of the company’s growth journey.
This is not a purely managerial position; you will be expected to lead from the front, supporting complex sales opportunities and ensuring the team consistently delivers against targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the sales strategy and growth plan aligned with company objectives.
- Lead and manage a commercial team of c.8–9 people, including five direct reports across sales and marketing.
- Drive revenue growth, pipeline development and deal conversion across the business.
- Support and lead strategic sales opportunities, including direct involvement in deal closure.
- Ensure clear accountability, forecasting and delivery against sales targets and timescales.
- Align sales, marketing and product functions to maximise market opportunity and lead generation.
- Maintain close engagement with key prospects and strategic customers.
- Embed a high-performance, results-driven sales culture within the team.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Sales Director, Head of Sales or Commercial Leadership role within B2B SaaS or technology within similar solutions.
- Track record of winning and closing complex enterprise sales deals.
- Experience leading high-performing sales teams in growth-stage or scale-up environments.
- Strong strategic planning and execution capability.
- Hands-on leadership style with a “roll up your sleeves” mentality.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
