Pathway to Director, Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Location: Flexible / Hybrid

We are looking for a Founder-in-Residence to help build the next generation of AI-enabled healthtech solutions, with a focused specialty in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial operator who wants to work at the intersection of clinical insight, product innovation, and venture creation. You’ll help identify high-impact opportunities, validate real-world problems, shape early product concepts, and support the development of solutions that improve care for clinicians and patients.

This role is designed for someone who wants to build first and lead next. Over time, the successful candidate may transition into a long-term leadership position as Director, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, helping define strategy, partnerships, and category leadership in this specialty.

What you’ll do

• Identify and evaluate opportunities where technology can improve Obstetrics and Gynaecology care.
• Conduct customer discovery with clinicians, providers, and healthcare stakeholders.
• Translate clinical insight into product concepts, workflows, and venture opportunities.
• Work with product, design, and engineering teams to test and refine MVPs.
• Assess clinical, regulatory, privacy, and operational considerations.
• Support pilots, partnerships, and early go-to-market efforts.
• Help shape the future Obstetrics and Gynaecology function within the business.
• Contribute to go-to-market planning, value proposition development, and evidence-generation strategy.
• Build the foundations for a future Obstetrics and Gynaecology function, including thought leadership, stakeholder trust, and sector expertise.
• Support tender responses, proposals, business cases, and strategic partnerships.

What we’re looking for

• Proven entrepreneurial experience, ideally as a founder, co-founder, or early-stage operator.
• Strong interest in AI healthtech and a deep appreciation for women’s health.
• Familiarity with Obstetrics and Gynaecology, maternity care, fertility, gynaecology, or related areas.
• Ability to move quickly from problem discovery to execution.
• Strong product thinking and comfort working across clinical, technical, and commercial domains.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• High ownership, resilience, and comfort with ambiguity.

Preferred experience

• Experience in healthtech, digital health, or a regulated healthcare environment.
• Background in women’s health or adjacent clinical pathways.
• 5+ years of recent leadership experience in an NHS based Gynaecology department
• Understanding of clinical governance, workflow design, or AI-enabled products.
• Experience collaborating across multidisciplinary teams (clinicians, engineers, researchers, executives).
• High credibility in executive, clinical, and government settings, especially within long‐cycle stakeholder engagements.
• Proven ability to translate clinical or operational insights into commercial and strategic outcomes.
• Proven ability to navigate complex procurement pathways and multi‐stakeholder healthcare environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading clinical programmes, governance activities, or safety‐critical initiatives within healthcare or digital health.
• Exposure to venture building, startup studios, or fundraising.
