Control System Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a Control Systems / Automation Engineer with strong expertise in PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to support the design and development of automation and control systems for power transformers and associated equipment. The role involves engineering design, software development, testing, and coordination with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop PLC and HMI software interfaces for power transformer control systems.
  • Prepare control schematics, software specifications, general arrangement drawings, and cable schedules for control cabinets (marshalling kiosks).
  • Develop automation solutions interfacing with relays, tap changers, transformer accessories, and SCADA / central control systems.
  • Perform PLC and HMI programming using relevant automation software.
  • Select and specify electrical components for control panels and manufacturing requirements.
  • Review supplier technical drawings and documentation.
  • Participate in and support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and system validation.
  • Ensure project delivery aligned with quality, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Design and review Low Voltage (LV) switchgear schematics and automation control circuits.
  • Coordinate and communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, manufacturing, procurement, projects, and quality teams.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience in PLC programming, HMI development, and industrial automation systems.
  • Knowledge of SCADA integration and control systems architecture.
  • Experience in electrical control design, schematics, and panel layouts.
  • Familiarity with power transformer control systems and substation automation is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Low Voltage switchgear and electrical automation systems.
  • Experience in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and commissioning activities.
  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
