Job Title: Interim Head of Revenues & Benefits

Location: Central Bedfordshire, UK

Contract: 3+ Months

Role Overview

Lead the Revenues & Benefits service, overseeing Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits, Local Council Tax Support, and Corporate Fraud functions. Drive service performance, policy development, legislative compliance, and transformation initiatives while providing strategic advice to senior leadership.

Key Requirements

• Significant experience in a Head of Revenues & Benefits or senior leadership role.
• Strong background in Revenues & Benefits service management.
• Experience managing Local Council Tax Support/Reduction Scheme reviews.
• Proven ability to lead teams through significant change.
• Experience engaging with elected members, MPs, and the Ombudsman.
• In-depth knowledge of Revenues & Benefits legislation.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience applying digital tools to improve service delivery.

Desirable

• Knowledge and experience of Civica systems.
