Pre-Sales Technician

We are seeking a proactive and energetic Pre-Sales Technician to join our fast-paced, technically focused sales team in Kettering. Specialising in labelling solutions, our portfolio spans everything from label printers to handheld computers.

You will act as the primary technical bridge between initial customer enquiry and successful solution implementation. You will leverage a deep understanding of the AM Labels product portfolio with a core focus on on-demand colour label printers to design, demonstrate, and propose technical solutions that solve a variety of labelling challenges for UK businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solution Scoping & Qualification: Identify and qualify technical requirements from incoming leads and outbound prospecting. You will be the first point of contact for technical validation.
• Product Demonstrations: Conduct product demonstrations both at our dedicated showroom and on-site at customer premises.
• Technical Consultation: Respond to complex customer enquiries regarding hardware integration, software (e.g., BarTender/NiceLabel), and media suitability.
• Bespoke Proposal Development: Prepare detailed technical proposals, formal quotations, and ROI analyses tailored to the customer’s specific production environment.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Technical Support team to ensure proposed solutions are feasible and to facilitate smooth handovers for installation.
• Market Representation: Represent AM Labels at UK industry trade shows and events, acting as a subject matter expert to generate new leads.
• Account Management: Maintain and grow relationships with managed accounts, ensuring their technical needs are met and identifying opportunities for hardware upgrades or media supply contracts.
• CRM & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records within the CRM. Provide monthly performance reports detailing lead conversion, demonstration success rates, and sales activity.
• Post-Sales Support: Monitor customer satisfaction post-installation to ensure the technical solution meets the initial brief and to foster long-term loyalty.

Key Requirements:

• Tech-Savvy Mindset: You don’t need an engineering degree, but you should be the type of person who is comfortable setting up a new PC, installing drivers, and figuring out how a new technology works.
• Logical Problem Solving: The ability to listen to a customer's problem and logically work out which product solves it best.
• Confident Communicator: You should be comfortable talking to new people and explaining "technical" things in a way that is easy to understand.
• Organised & Proactive: Able to manage your own diary, balancing customer visits with following up on enquiries and quotes.

Experience:

• Aptitude for Technology: Experience in any role where you’ve had to explain a product or "how things work" is a huge plus.
• Full UK Driving Licence: Potential to be out and about meeting customers and demonstrating the kit.
• IT Literate: Comfortable with Windows, standard software packages, and learning basic design or printer software.
• Industry Experience: While experience in printing or packaging is a bonus, we are more interested in your ability to learn our products and talk to customers

Salary:

• £25,000 to £35,000 per year (DOE) plus commission

Hours / Holidays

• 37.5 hours per week onsite at Kettering office
• 9.00 to 17.30 Monday to Thursday, 8.30 to 17.00 Friday
• 28 days holiday including bank holidays, rising by 1 day per years service up to a maximum of 33 days
