Role

This role at Apollo Fire Detectors focuses on building foundation technical skills, customer service capability, and professional working practices, while contributing to the effective delivery of IT support services across the business.

The IT Technician Apprentice will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Provide first‐line IT support to users under supervision
  • Log, update and manage service requests and incidents using the IT service management system, ensuring accurate notes and escalation where required
  • Escalate unresolved issues promptly to IT Technicians in line with agreed procedures
  • Assist with employee on-boarding and off-boarding
  • Support basic workstation builds and configuration in line with company standards
  • Assist with routine maintenance tasks such as equipment swaps and desk moves
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets, ensuring devices are logged, tracked and updated correctly
  • Assist with stock checks, equipment labelling and asset audits
  • Support IT Technicians with tracking loan equipment and replacements
  • Follow documented IT processes and procedures consistently
  • Help keep knowledge base articles up to date by identifying gaps or outdated information
  • Learn how IT services are delivered within a regulated business environment

Training

Level 3 IT Support Technician Apprenticeship Standard. You will complete a 22-month apprenticeship which includes 25 days at the PETA training centre in Cosham. You will be supported every 6-8 weeks with visits from your PETA Learning & Development Coach.

  • Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, the right candidate will be offered a full-time permanent position
