A world-renowned global brand is looking for a hands-on Machine Learning Specialist to join its ML team on an outside IR35 contract basis.
The models cover some genuinely interesting problems: valuing products, understanding client behaviour, personalisation, and automated understanding of images. You'll own models end to end, from exploratory work and validation through to production services that developer teams across the business rely on.
The stack is Databricks and Azure. The team puts real weight on reproducibility and traceability, so clean experiment tracking and versioning are part of the job, not an afterthought.
What you'll bring
- Strong Python and the standard modelling and analysis stack
- Practical experience building supervised and unsupervised models across a range of projects
- Solid validation discipline: experimental design, evaluation metrics, leakage, and knowing when a result is real
- Experience getting models into production or handing them over cleanly, with experiment tracking and model versioning
- The ability to explain complex results clearly to non-technical colleagues, including through good data visualisation
- Good engineering habits, including version control and testing
Nice to have
- Databricks, MLflow or a similar ML platform
- Azure
- Deep learning and embedding-based approaches
- LLMs or agentic approaches for extraction, classification or reasoning
- Uncertainty quantification, quantile regression or Bayesian methods
- An interest in the art market
This role suits someone curious and collaborative: happy to prototype ideas before anyone asks, share work in progress, and help colleagues build their ML knowledge.
Contract, outside IR35, fully remote within the UK.
